Hey Y’all! Let me introduce you to my whirlwind of a life that somehow combines lashes & livestock. I’m Kaitlyn Davis, PBR wifey, mom, & founder of Reign.
It didn’t all start out this way, in fact, I didn’t even know there was a whole world of people out there living this lifestyle. The bleacher babe lifestyle that is. Ya know... the one where you’re in the stands hoping your man makes the “8 seconds”, brings home a belt buckle and a check. I was quite culture shocked to be honest. The only cowboy I knew of was the urban one and now I’m married to a REAL one.
Let’s bring it back to January 2014, Port Arthur Buffalo Wild Wings was the first time my long haired, cross necklace wearin’ rodeo cowboy and I met. It wasn’t exactly fireworks right off... Well not for me anyways. 3.5 years later and we are still here today, but things are a little different, my once long-haired cowboy is now a short-haired PBR mainstay. He won the PBR Finals in 2015 and became a world champion at only 22 years old in 2016!
In 2015, we welcomed our baby boy, Mack Davis. He has been the light of our life for many reasons, but the most obvious if you follow me on Instagram, @Kait.Davis, he is a little cowboy himself turned viral superstar. Do you remember that toddler riding the inflatable cow out of the wooden chute with 4 million views? Well that’s my Mack. He has his daddy’s blood through and through. Well not only his dads blood but a lot of other Americans blood too, literally. Let me explain… Mack has a rare blood disease that mimics a benign leukemia. Basically, he had to have 4 blood transfusions on the morning of the RFD-TV American this year, leading to the diagnosis of Transient Erythroblastopenia of Childhood, (a slowly developing anemia that occurs in early childhood and is characterized by a gradual onset of pallor. As the name suggests, all patients with transient erythroblastopenia of childhood recover completely without sequelae). We had no idea that when we showed up to Children’s Health Hospital in Dallas and stayed on the Stem Cell transplant unit for 3 days it would lead to that, but we are sure glad it did because we showed up to the emergency room that day with a hemoglobin of 2.6!!! The doctor said he was 48 hrs. away from heart failure, and most likely death. We got to meet so many great nurses, doctors & families going through even tougher times than us. Through our quest to figure out Mack’s diagnosis, we met many children fighting leukemia or other types of cancers because it was likely Mack could have leukemia. But, thank our great Lord he is here with us today and he was able to leave that hospital because so many precious children are not.
Now he is back riding inflatable bulls all over my house… every day. The reason I feel it’s important to share my sons once cancer scare, is because it inspired my next business venture. After experiencing those heart wrenching days with those angelic souls fighting cancer, it was placed on my heart to give back in a way I knew how. At this point in my life, I already had a successful strip eyelash designing and wholesaling business and wanted to take my passion and make a difference. I feel like our God put my family through that learning experience for a reason. He wanted to show me the importance of family and what’s not so important. I collaborated with my production company and my design team to develop “Reign Lashes for Hope”, a NON-profit organization that every set of eyelashes purchases on reignlashes.com, one set is donated to a woman going through chemotherapy. Since the launch in May 2017 we have collected thousands of donations! This is still going on and I encourage you to check out our site and our Instagram.com/Reign.Lashes.
